About me

I was born in the 80`s in Zagreb, Croatia and being interested in computers and technology since childhood. This blog will be covering some of my experiences in everyday work with IT.

My professional career:

It starts in 2001, well, officially at least. I started as IT technician for MCS Grupa and was configuring smaller networks with MS clients, troubleshooting all kinds of hardware, software and network problems.

In the early days of my IT career I became part of a large project – computerization of primary healthcare practices in Croatia which started in 2001.

I was appointed as system administrator in 2003 for MCS Grupa company and my main focus was planning, development and implementation of complete IT solutions for cloud based health care software. Somewhere in the end of 2004 I became leading IT administrator and established system engineering department for the company.

In period from 2001 – 2008 I got skilled in various fields – as IT technician in deploying, maintaining and troubleshooting various hardware components, client OSes and networks and later as IT administrator in server hardware from various vendors (HP,Dell), server OSes (Windows Server 2000-2003) and services (AD, DNS, IIS, clustering…), advanced network and security solutions (Cisco, ISA server) and database administration (MS SQL Server 2000-2005).

I also learned how to lead projects since I was part of dynamic and challenging environment where I got numerous opportunities to plan, develop and execute various demanding IT projects.

Communications and team work skills came naturally since I was working on 1000+ people project and had a chance to work with various professional profiles (doctors, nurses, sales, engineers, developers…)

Since 2008 I’m working with ECCOS inzenjering d.o.o.

I’m focused on Server OSes (Windows Server 2008-2012R2) and services (AD, DNS, File, Print, IIS, DHCP…). I’m also very interested and have advanced skills is server virtualization (HyperV, VMware and some Citrix for Marathon software), Microsoft Exchange and various cluster configurations (Windows Server, Marathon Everrun) in NAS/SAN environment. In security and networks I mainly work with Cisco, Fortinet, PFsense and still some ISA on various implementations. I’m also testing and implementing various private cloud services (storage and collaboration tools mainly)

Since 2014 I’m head of IT department for ECCOS inzenjering.

Of course, I also cooperated on a multitude of ECCOS’s projects but cannot speak of all due to security and confidentiality issues.

I can mention my participation on the new Neanderthal museum in Krapina, Croatia. The museum received many awards for multimedia and IT implementation and is well worth visit. Here is even a letter of thanks I received from Museum -> Letter of thanks
